YORKSHIRE HOUSE PRICES - From The Yorkshire surveyor
Can thee ride tandem as house prices and popularity grow?
The joyful scenes last year when the Tour de France transformed Yorkshire into a riot of colour and celebration turned the old cliché of a dour, inward-looking county on its head. The cyclists have indeed been back with The Tour De Yorkshire and although a proud Yorkshireman pays little heed to what goes on outside his boundaries, the county is suddenly attracting attention from far and wide.
House prices across the region rose by more than 5 per cent in 2014. They are now above the level they were at before the 2008 downturn – and much of the interest in purchasing is from elsewhere in Britain.
“In 2010, 33 per cent of buyers were from outside Yorkshire"
